Description

1850 1kr type Ib machine paper, 3kr type IIIb, and 9kr type IIIb two examples, all well margined and tied by dispatch cds’s on 30.3.1856 cover from Innsbruck to Annonay (France), paying the 22kr rate including 6kr to the Austrian border, 4kr transit in Switzerland and 12kr for the French portion of the journey, showing “FRANCO”, “P.D.”, “L.A.” and “über/BASEL” markings alongside, carried via the French P.O. at Basel with red cds and “7/A.E.D” oval handstamp, transits and arrival on reverse, ironed out horizontal filing fold, a very rare three-colour franking; Ferchenbauer €21’000; certs. Ferchanbauer (1984) and Briefmarkenprüfstelle Basel (1999); ex Silvan Wyler.
