1579 (Jan 28) Letter from the Holy Emperor Rudolph II (House of Habsburg), then also King of Hungary and Croatia and Archduke of Austria, addressed to his cousin Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria, ruler of Outer Austria and Imperial Count of Tirol; the letter was erroneously dated inside in 1799, but the docket of receipt on front shows 11 February 1579; signed “Rudolff” as “your more beloved cousin”, displaying a complete paper seal on back with a great embossing, very fine and rare, with a quite accurate transcription being attached; ex Rothschild.
