Lot 95494 – 1917, official envelope from Isfahan to Bushire
1917, official envelope from Isfahan to Bushire, franked with 1913 24 ch lilac and green, tied by circular Isfahan 2 Jan. 1917. On reverse is circular violet ‘British Consulate General Ispahan’ and two wax seals with the same inscription. The letter is addressed to ‘His Britannic Majesty’s Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, Bushire ‘ (Sir Percy Sykes at the time), who had been involved in the battle with Iranian nationalists in Kazeroun. A fine and large inland letter, with a vertical fold to left side, clear of the stamp.
