Lot 95227 – 1845 Cayes negative seal entire to Italy

1845 entire from an Italian missionary who was near the source of the Mississippi, sent to New York for private forwarding to Port au Prince, landed at Cayes where black negative seal CAYES/ Paye applied with manuscript rating alongside, redirected then to Leogane, Italy without further postmarks. Fine example of this scarce negative seal albeit applied horizontally.
