Description
1866-77, lot of 18 covers for the postal history collector. Many different cancels and postage due and rates to be explored, incl. 1866 1/2a grey-black SG1 used on part local cover with Srinagar red brick circular cancel, 1866 1/2a grey-black SG1 cut square cancelled by violet obliteration on piece, 1866 1/2a grey-black SG1, cut round, used on cover local cover with Srinagar red brick circular cancel, posted within Jammu & Kashmir, 1866 1/2a grey-black SG1, cut round, used on small native cover dated July 18 1866 to India but no India half anna stamp, 1866 1/2a grey-black SG1 used in combination with India 1/2a blue, magenta cancel, dated July 19 1866; first year of issue, stamp damaged, 1866 1a ultramarine SG3a, cut square, used on small native handmade cover posted within J & K (part of address cut out), 1877 1/2a red on native paper SG26, cut square, just cut into, tied to reverse of India 1/2a postal stationery envelope to Bhopore by black seal (cert. BPA 2010), 1867 1/2a deep violet-blue SG58 on cover with Jammu Magenta cancel, 1877-78 1/2a brown-red SG72 with iron mine cancel on cover in combination with India 1/2a stationery envelope, as well as four SG91 usages and five SG92 usages, a great lot for starting a specialised postal history collection; ex Dan Walker.
