Lot 80115 – 1944 Idar complete issues (SG3-6) on a palace stationery

1944 Idar complete issues (SG3-6) on a palace stationery (royal crest embossed in back flap) address to Major D Souza with undated strikes of the Himmatnagar postmark type G2a, this is probably a CTO cover. For a very long time, this was the only cover known with the 1944 issues to dealers outside India but more were found in later years, a piece of history and material for future research (cover mentioned in an article in India Post Vol 33, 1999). Very fine (SG £1245).
