Lot 85472 – Ionian Islands 1830 entire Cephalonia to Corfu, picture cancel

1830 entire to Corfu bearing a fine strike of Officio Della Posta Di Cefalonia seal, showing a portrait of Cephalus and his dog, Lelaps, Cephalonia scroll despatch on reverse, oval royal large Corfu handstamp on front with red manuscript “4”, a scroll arrival backstamp of 17 March. Good condition with a fine example of the pictorial handstamp, one of the earliest such cancels.
