Description
1869 Unpaid letter from Paris (Dec. 16th/28th, 1869) to Athens (Dec. 25th, 1869/Jan. 6.th, 1870). Taxed on arrival with 90 lepta (black tax marking “90 LEP”) for the transportation by the boats of the “Compagnie des Lignes de la Méditerranée” of a letter up to 10 grams (single rate) according to the 1866 convention between Greece & France. The 10 lepta is from the cleaned plates printings (1868-1869) and the 80 lepta from the consecutive Athens printings (1862-1867).
Good to very large margins.
