1856 (Nov 1) small envelope from Beaford (Devon) to Scotland with 1855-57 1d red-brown on slightly blued paper, wmk LC perf.14 pl.30, tied by late use of the Maltese Cross with “C.R” (Caledonia Railway), reverse with UDC despatch, London transit, Laurencekirk and Fettercairn ds, a lovely and rare late usage of the MC; cert.
