Description

1840 1d. black, Pl. 2, TA, a superb marginal example from the lower left corner of the sheet showing with full deckle edge and showing part inscription “PRICE 1d. Per L” and plate number “2”, large part original gum; a couple of small faults mostly confined to the sheet margin, in no way detracting from the fine appearance of this major exhibition rarity.
