Lot 20870 – 1964, World Cruise, intended for “Khrushchev’s Visit to Sweden”, unissued stamp
1964, World Cruise, intended to commemorate “Khrushchev’s Visit to Sweden”, 4k line perf. 14 and printed on special ungummed Goznak paper. As Khrushchev was removed from power and the visit was not to be commemorated, the stamp was withdrawn and never issued. Only a few copies of this legendary stamp exist. This rarity is certainly one of the highlights of modern Russian philately. A similar stamp sold in Cherrystone, October 2008 as part of the S. Shtern Collection of Soviet Union (hammer $25.000). With RPSL certificate 2024.
