1901 Hohe Rinne (Păltiniș) Hotel Post: Austria-Hungary (now Romania) picture postcard of Hermannstadt (Nagyszeben/Sibiu), sent on 23 July 1901 from Hohe Rinne via Keresztnysziget (Cristian) to Vienna, arriving on 25 July 1901. The item is franked with a perforated 2 heller black-on-pink Hotel Post stamp (3rd Issue), together with a 5-filler Turul Hungarian stamp. The hotel stamp covered the fee for transporting mail from the resort to the nearest state post office (Keresztenysziget/Cristian). This is the earliest recorded date of usage of this local stamp. A scarce and attractive item from the Transylvanian Alps/Southern Carpathians, in fine condition.
