Description
Austrian Consular Post in Romania (Moldavia, Levant): 10s blue (1864 issue, 9½ perf) on ~1865 registered cover sent from Botosani to Czernowitz (Cernauti, now Chernivtsi in Ukraine), bearing a very fine strike of “BOTUSCHAN 30/9” consular cds in black (Tchilinghirian Fig. 727), arrival on 2/10. Unfortunately missing a small part of the back flap together with the registration stamp -however a very fine looking front, with a scarce postmark.
