Austrian Consular Post in Romania (Bucharest, Levant): Pair of covers bearing the linear handstamp “BUKAREST” and date (Tchilinghirian Fig. 710). Unpaid cover sent on 14/5/1853 to Paris, via Hermannstadt (now Sibiu), disinfected on route, Austrian rate (35k=6+29) noted in ink, taxed 16 decime on arrival 24/5 & prepaid cover (“FRANCO” Tchilinghirian Fig. 711) sent on 22/2/1855 to Constantinople, Turkey, rated 9+12=21k on reverse.
