Lot 66191 – Samoa 1877-80 Express issue mint and used study collection

A finely presented, written-up collection with State I 1d., 3d. and 6d. with manuscript cancels as used before the arrival of cancelling devices, the 1d with small stain, each with an obligatory straight edge, also with further 1d , 3d. and 6d unused or used (Fiji straburst on 6d), State II values unused or used including 9 of the 10 positions used, 1/- (8 including unused block of four, pos 4-5/ 9-10) and two used 5/-, State III including 1d complete sheet of 20 mint, 2/- perf 12.5 used positions 1/1 and 1/2 and 5/- perf 12.5 used position 2/4. A fine collection offering an excellent basis for expansion.
