2d deep blue, early impression, two examples (pos. 6 and 8) both with clear to large margins in combination with Britannia 6d, just shaved at top left, all tied by void barred ovals to wrapper sent to Netherlands Indies, reverse with sender’s commercial cachet, GPO Mauritius despatch, Madras and Singapore transits, very fine, the best Lapirot-Britannia mixed franking and one of only two to the Netherlands Indies; cert. Brandon (2007) and Scheller (2024); ex A. J. Stevens and Davy.
