1901 (Feb 19th) a superbly executed £1. hand painted essay for an unappropriated die with three-quarter head lithographed portrait and hand painted surround on grease proof tracing paper (60 x 75) showing manuscript date at top right; a very fine and exceedingly rare essay, unique.
