1901 (Feb 19th) a superbly executed 3d. hand painted essay for an unappropriated die with three-quarter head lithographed portrait and hand painted surround mounted on sunken card (60 x 75) showing manuscript date at top right with manuscript “B” at lower left and initialled EC (Ernest Cleave controller of stamps) at lower right; Rare.
