1909 2d. yellow-ochre, perforated “Tyrian plum” colour trial on white crown watermark paper, perf. 14, lovely fresh colour; heavy crease and trimmed perfs at foot, otherwise fine and very rare. Cat. from £25,000. Ex “Maximus” (S.G. Auctions 1970) and Harold Fisher (Phillips 1985).
