Imperforate colour trials on watermarked paper, using sixpenny plates.
Although said to be on “Very Thin Paper”, these trials are printed on paper no thinner than standard issues. in fact the purple and grey appear to be gummed and are 1 micron thicker. With varying print quality these trials may differ both in time and place (including Sommerset house) possibly to test inks and printing on unprepared papers.
6d. in Buff, with good margins, just touching the guideline at top. very rare. Cat £9000.
