In early April three designs for the one penny value were submitted to the King who approved A for the design and B for the pose of the head, this was the third design un-approved,
Photographic and hand painted essay affixed to card (80 x 100 mm.) with hand drawn perfs. around, submitted but unapproved; a fine and most attractive essay ex De La rue Archives.
