Description

On the 16th March 1901 the King rejected types A and B, but advised the Postmaster General that he favoured a profile head by the Austrian artist Emil Fuchs (this had already been sent to Somerset house on the 15th March.

1901 Emil Fuchs essays: reduced photographic head as approved and used for the early essays (retrieved from a damaged paste up trial) signed “Fuchs 1901″; very rare.
