Lot 2000 – 1419 Complete folded letter, sent from Damietta to Alexandria

1419 Complete folded letter, sent from Damietta to Alexandria, dated 28 June 1419 and written in a Venetian dialect, addressed to Blasio Dolphin, Venetian Consul at Alexandria (1418-1420), with seal and parts of strings to tie the letter preserved. Some light water damage probably stemming from vinegar disinfection in Venice lazaretto (quarantine station); complete and with full correspondence, a very rare early survival.
