1936 Berlin unadopted essays group, quite possibly essays that were submitted to the Reichsdruckerei as a proposal for the Olympic issue, with three blocks of seven photographic essays stuck on perforated paper showing different designs of various sports with very Germanic designs as well as three similar single photographic essays showing a German athlete in front of the stadium with varying legends, in the same format as essays known to have been submitted (e.g. see lot 20338 from our December 2021 Olympic auction), includes photocopy of a letter from the Director of the Reichs Printing Works so seems to be the three series by A. Kolb of Leipzig, the lot also includes 14 singles and 5 mini sheets with the same designs but have been printed much later, plus a more modern mini sheet with a design showing Jesse Owens coming out of the starting blocks at the Olympics. An important group of original essays.
