1840 (May 11) 1d Mulready envelope, stereo A189, sent from Silsoe (Bedfordshire) to London, cancelled by a fine upright red Maltese Cross, with Silsoe udc in red on the reverse along with a London 11 MY 1840 arrival alongside, highly likely to have been sent the day before which is a Sunday (S.G. £16,000), wax seal removed and two vertical creases to sides, otherwise fine and scarce provisional May date use (S.G. £2’200).
