1840 Fourpenny post stampless entire, superb unfolded entire sent to Edinburgh, bearing a crisp strike of the red Mauchline “4” handstamp, red boxed Mauchline NO.7.1840 ds and an Edinburgh arrival cds for the following day; very rare with only two examples recorded of a red prepaid Mauchline “4” handstamp with this being by far the more attractive of the two.
