1898 (Aug 11) Registered cover to France, franked by forerunner 2c, 5c (2) and 6c, tied by cork cancels with Ponce registration cds at lower left, New York registration exchange label alongside, backstamped in transit at New York, few usual tone perforations; a very rare franking to pay the unusual double rate registration franking.
