A large portion of the items were sent to London, but also to Paris and to Belgian military addressees in the Western Front, with a good variety of frankings, military cachets and censorships, as well as one very rare example carried by British diplomatic bag with censorship of the War Office. The lot is enriched with an extraordinary album displaying more than 100 small photographs of the Corps in Russia, a small drawing of the a soldier’s portrait as well as a notebook with written memories illustrated with few photographs of a member of the Corps in Russia. In addition two books published in French in Belgium providing interesting information about the campaign of the Corps and its activities, which will help to closer analyse the significance of some of the postal history items.
