Description
1901 Pan-American Exposition Issue 4c, centre inverted, unused (Scott 296a), centred to bottom, one short perforation top left, regummed, with a hinge remnant. Most of the surviving examples of this iconic rarity have thin spots or disturbed gum, but this is a fresh and sound specimen with deep, rich colours. Scott $85.000. Certificate PF, March 1991.
