Austrian Post Offices 1839 (Oct 9/21): Entire letter from Galatz to Genova, Italy struck in transit with superb JASSY straight line handstamp in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 753), prepaid on despatch with obverse showing diagonal pen stroke. VIA DI / VOGHERA and oval ‘LT’ in red on front with Genova arrival (Nov 9) in red on reverse and charged ’21’ decimi to pay in manuscript. Rastel punched for disinfection probably on arrival.
