1857 (Mar 1) cover to Germany with very rare mixed franking of a very fine 1853 40c pink (2nd issue) and 1855, 20c cobalt (4th issue)
with one margin touched, both cancelled by the rare double-circle

€10,000), paying the 1st weight step to Frankfurt a. Main (Hessen, Thurn und Taxis post) with arrival on reverse.A very rare mixed issue franking to Germany; the franking alone is catalogued in Sassone at €40,000, giving a combined catalogue value in excess of €50,000.
