Entire wrapper sent from the Swedish Consulate in Quebec, 16 June 1856, carried by Cunard “Niagara” from Boston (18 June), Liverpool, London (30 June) to Hamburg (2 July), addressed to a governmental body in Stockholm.

Routing & Charges: Initial manuscript charge of 1/10 1/2d (possibly reflecting prepaid Quebec postage) was deleted. The total charge to Hamburg was 13¾sgr, with credit of 1s to Great Britain. The postage from Hamburg to Stockholm was paid in bulk by the Swedish government (1s = 10sgr).
