France: 1855 – Montreal to Reims via Cunard “Africa”
Entire letter from Montreal, 5 Nov 1855, carried by Cunard “Africa” from Boston 7 Nov via Liverpool 18 Nov, London, Calais to Reims (20 Nov). Struck with red boxed CANADA & C. ART.12., initially taxed 17 Decimes, but barred as a double letter and charged 34 Decimes on arrival. Weight recorded as 7 grams.
