Description

1852-57 6d Slate-Grey with 1858-59 1/2d Rose Strip – Peterborough to Navan, Ireland via Allan “Nova Scotian”

6d slate-grey on medium wove paper (three good margins) with 1/2d rose, perforated, horizontal strip of three, tied by “30” numeral with PETERBORO SP 26 1859 C.W. datestamp on envelope (sax seal removed). Routed via Cobourg, Montreal, Quebec, carried by Allan “Nova Scotian” via Liverpool (12/10), onward to Dublin and Navan (13/10). Stunning combination usage.
