Horizontal strip of four 10d blue (positions 68–71) on medium wove paper, tied by Toronto grid cancellations on an OHMS envelope from Toronto, early May 1859. Carried by Cunard “Arabia” from Boston via Liverpool, 14 May, to Elgin, Scotland.
One of only three recorded four-fold Cunard covers, and the largest strip of the 10d recorded, illustrated in Arfken and Gems of Canadian Philately. A superb exhibition of early Canadian high-value franking on official mail.
