1852–57 3d Scarlet-Vermilion Pair and 10d Bright Blue on Thin Wove – Perth to Scotland via US Packet and Collins Line

Vertical pair of 3d scarlet-vermilion on thin oily wove paper, together with 10d bright blue on thin wove paper, all with good to large margins, tied by PERTH U.C., DEC 4 1855 circular datestamp and “29” numeral on envelope (missing backflap). Carried via Brockville (backstamp) and Montreal (partial backstamp), with red “CONVEYED BY UNITED STATES PACKET New York 12/12” handstamp, then on Collins “Atlantic” to Liverpool, struck with red “PKT.LETTER PAID LIVERPOOL 23 DEC 1855”, and to Sanquhar, Scotland (arrival backstamp).
