3d red perforated, vertical strip of six, tied by “21” numeral on envelope from Montreal, 16 March 1859, sent via Rouse’s Point (backstamp) to Champlain, New York. Some envelope creasing and a little cosmetic cover improvement at lower left.
This represents the triple letter rate and is the largest multiple of this stamp recorded on cover.
