3d deep red on medium wove paper, with good to huge margins, tied by “37” numeral on envelope with QUEBEC L.C., MAR 22 1857 circular datestamp, addressed to Boston. An additional “6” handstamp indicates the stamp was not accepted as partial payment of the required rate, a rare usage.
