Entire letter with NORTH PELHAM U.C. circular datestamp and manuscript date “4th Oct 1854”, charged 6d currency, carried via Port Robinson and St. Catharines, struck with “CANADA 10 CTS” oval handstamp from Suspension Bridge, and SUSPENSION BRIDGE N.Y., OCT 5 single-circle exchange marking to New York.
A fine example of cross-border correspondence, demonstrating the use of Canadian postage markings on letters routed through U.S. exchange offices.
