1852–57 3d Brown-Red Vertical Pair on Thin Wove – Kingston to New York
Vertical pair of 3d brown-red, 1st printing on thin wove (non-laid) paper, good to large margins, just tied by concentric circles on entire letter from Kingston, 30 May 1853, also struck with red framed and curved “CANADA” handstamp, addressed to New York.
A fine early example of Canadian postage used for cross-border mail, showing the adoption of the 1st printing on wove paper for international letters.
