1858 Stampless Official Cover – Kincardine “FREE” Marking
Envelope sent via Goderich to the Land Office Department, Toronto, bearing a clear linear “FREE” in black, with KINCARDINE U.C., OC 29 1858 circular datestamp alongside, reverse with Goderich and Toronto cds, very fine.
Note: Certain Government agencies held the privilege of sending mail free of charge, indicated by official “FREE” handstamps.
