BELLEVILLE: 1852–57 3d Red on Medium Hard Wove Cover
1852–57 3d red on medium hard wove paper, good margins all around, tied by violet BELLEVILLE, SP 8 1858, U.C. circular datestamp on envelope addressed to Brockville with arrival backstamp.
The stamp exhibits the re-entry of Pane B, Position 53, known as the “VR” re-entry, a notable plating variety.
Provenance: Highlands and Chan Ching Chueng (Harmers 1961).
