HAMILTON: 1852–57 7½d Deep Yellow-Green on Mourning Cover to England

1852–57 7½d deep yellow-green, close to large margins, tied by HAMILTON, MY 31 1859 circular datestamp on a mourning cover with enclosure, carried by Allan Line “North American” via Quebec and Liverpool to London.

Pays the 7½d Canadian Allan Line rate, valid from 2 June 1856. The cover is addressed to George Cruikshank, the renowned caricaturist and book illustrator.
