1852–57 7½d Deep Yellow-Green on Cover to Ireland
7½d deep yellow-green, showing top sheet marginal with partial imprint, very good to large margins, centrally cancelled by concentric circles on cover with red FORT WILLIAM, O.C., 20 Oct 1859, C.E. circular datestamp. Routed via Pembroke, Arnprior, Brockville, Quebec, carried by Allan Line “North Britain” via Liverpool with red PAID, Dublin, to Midleton, Co. Cork, Ireland.
Only four covers known to Ireland according to Firby.
Pays the 7½d Canadian Allan Line rate, valid from 2 June 1856, a fine example of mid-19th century transatlantic mail with imprint position and clear routing.
