3d orange-red on thin hard wove paper together with 3d brown-red on medium wove paper (one four-margined other three-margined), tied by COBOURG, U.C., JAN 3 1855 circular datestamp on cover bearing red CANADA PAID 10 Cts. handstamp of Toronto, addressed to Deerfield, Franklin County.

Pays the 6d U.S. letter rate, valid from 1 July 1851, an attractive example of a mixed printing franking on cross-border mail.
