Abutshi Customs Office: 1899 (Dec 15) envelope from Abutshi to France with GB 1887 2 1/2d tied by “THE ROYAL NIGER Co. C. & L. / CUSTOMS / OFFICE / ABUTSHI” violet oval datestamp, sent via Burutu with black type 4 boxed datestamp on reverse along with Passavant arrival, cover faults, a very rare cancellation on cover (less than 10 known) and probably the only example not sent to England and paying the 2 1/2d rate; cert.
