Lot 60497 – Amban Mail
1855 cover from the Chinese Amban at Lhasa to the King of Nepal with original letter and th Nepalese file notes, sent by Amban ‘Tnud Tarin’ with both the cover and letter bear the red seal of the Amban. The enclosed letter refers to the response of the Chinese Emperor and he thanks the Nepalese for their good wishes and for the offer of the Nepalese Army’s offer to help suppress protestors in Lhasa. A fine historic item.
