Lot 60410 – 1893-94 A native double rate cover 1/2a Green pair

1893-94 A native double rate cover 1/2a Green pair stamps printed close together with wavy lines between them used with intaglio seal cancel. Additional intaglio seal cancel seen on the cover too. Mailed to Raj Nandgaon good depot (maal godam in hindi). The stamps look like SG5 but they are SGO4 hand stamped with M.B.D (this usage also shows that the MBD overprints considered as officials by SG signifies the second ruler initials for postal use and might not be officials as no examples are known on official usage). Some uneven edges, a very rare double rate cover. Ex Dan Walker (SG unpriced for covers).
