1922 ½ Anna Pale Orange-Brown (Spence 65), Die II – Lion and Palm Tree Essay. Photogravure reprint on thick card paper, in the distinctive pale orange-brown shade, representing Die II of the Lion and Palm Tree essays. Only four sheets are recorded in this shade, yielding just twelve examples of Die II, making this a notably rare colour variant within the series and seldom offered. Printed just before the dies were archived at the Royal Museum. A very fine hinged example, with excellent preservation and wide margins. Provenance: Ex Spence, E. A. Smythies.
