Kushanas, Huvishka, c. 151-192, AV dinar, 7.65 g. (19 mm). Obverse: Crowned half-length bust on clouds, halo around head, holding scepter, with Bactrian legend around ÞAONANOÞAO OOηÞKI KOÞANO, king of kings, Huvishka Kushan. Reverse: Shaoreoro standing facing right, holding spear in right hand and resting shield on ground. Bactrian legend around PAOPHOPO (Shaoreoro), tamgha to left, dotted border around.
An extremely interesting variation that shows the complete Bactrian inscription on reverse written around the figure of Shaoreoro, beginning at 2 o’clock and ending at the figure’s feet at about 7 o’clock. No similar type has been found on Coinarchives.
Fine details, cleaned.
